| The Sasktel Jazz Festival in Saskatoon, Alberta's Edmonton Jazz Festival, the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival in Fredericton, New Brunswick, the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival in St. John's, Newfoundland, and more recently, the Great Canadian Blues Festival in Toronto, Ontario, have all invited Denis to perform his brand of blues. A household name on the Newfoundland blues scene, Denis Parker has been creating a solid reputation all over the east coast of Canada, where sell-out crowds keep asking, "can we take some of this home?" In 1998, Denis Parker put out a recording of some of his best original songs blended with blues standards given the Parker treatment. The CD called Snowman Blues establishes itself as a cornerstone in Denis Parker's career and shows the versatility of his singing as well as his ability to write intense and passionate lyrics over melodic and roots based music. Co-produced by Denis and well-known Newfoundland producer Don Walsh, mixed by Gaston Gagnon, this album is the missing link between today's American and British blues sound. Denis Parker's future plans include performing at Blues Venues/Festivals as a solo artist or with his band. Either way, Denis Parker packs a real blues punch that you won't want to miss. An electric CD is also something Denis' fans have been demanding for a long time; so keep your ears to the ground! | |
