Denis Parker has been playing and singing the blues for over thirty years. Born and raised in London, England, he feasted on a steady diet of blues legends touring Europe in the early sixties. Fascinated by the music's raw simplicity, he began to write original songs with a vision of his own on the most soulful of all musical styles—the Blues. Since then, he has established his unique style and over the years managed to master this genre.

Early in his career, Denis moved to Newfoundland, Canada, where he enjoyed immediate success either fronting bands or performing solo. During a stay in Quebec City, he teamed up with the magical guitar player Gaston Gagnon, which was the start of a long musical journey. In 1977 he returned to Newfoundland to record the album TNT with the help of guitarist/producer Neil Bishop. Early in the eighties a chance meeting with fellow bluesman Roger Howse led to many years of musical partnership. This duo was extremely popular and produced two recordings, Eagle Ridin' Papas and Rollin'and Tumblin'. With the addition of Peter Narváez, Cookstown Jukes performed unique interpretations of acoustic jugband and ragtime music, Holger Peterson recording an entire live concert from St. John's for his national radio broadcastSaturday Night Blues (CBC).

The Sasktel Jazz Festival in Saskatoon, Alberta's Edmonton Jazz Festival, the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival in Fredericton, New Brunswick, the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival in St. John's, Newfoundland, and more recently, the Great Canadian Blues Festival in Toronto, Ontario, have all invited Denis to perform his brand of blues. A household name on the Newfoundland blues scene, Denis Parker has been creating a solid reputation all over the east coast of Canada, where sell-out crowds keep asking, "can we take some of this home?"

In 1998, Denis Parker put out a recording of some of his best original songs blended with blues standards given the Parker treatment. The CD called Snowman Blues establishes itself as a cornerstone in Denis Parker's career and shows the versatility of his singing as well as his ability to write intense and passionate lyrics over melodic and roots based music. Co-produced by Denis and well-known Newfoundland producer Don Walsh, mixed by Gaston Gagnon, this album is the missing link between today's American and British blues sound.

Denis Parker's future plans include performing at Blues Venues/Festivals as a solo artist or with his band. Either way, Denis Parker packs a real blues punch that you won't want to miss. An electric CD is also something Denis' fans have been demanding for a long time; so keep your ears to the ground!
